2022 Design Insights
As well as some recent project updates we'd like to share with you we also want to extrapolate on our recent interview with The Press Democrat for their article
"Design forecast 2022: Micro offices, smart storage and color pops".
Read more about why we expect certain design trends to take off in 2022 below.
We were pleased to be asked our speculations on design trends for 2022 by Meg McConahey of The Press Democrat this January. We joined the voices of Pfau Architecture and Fletcher Rhodes Interior Design to discuss a multitude of topics from practical materials selection for kitchens & bathrooms to how clients are better utilizing their spaces for work-from-home culture.
Sampled here are examples of color pallets and contrasts that we were describing in the article; colors that pop and draw your eye in contrast to slightly less saturated tones. These are soft, but more energizing and playful than pastels (although pastels will still be a prominent background in minimalist environments).
A brief update on one of our new-build home projects in the hills overlooking Santa Rosa, the detached garage and the first floor of the residence were recently framed, allowing us to stand at the finished floor level of the 2-story home for the first time since the project's conception. The sight-lines we designed to the east and west valleys are spectacular, we can't wait to show you this project completed!
In other news, we started this project for a returning client's home in San Francisco, redesigning the unique exterior entryway of this gorgeous Ashbury Heights property. We intend to better utilize the spaces en-route to the front door to create outdoor social opportunities and relaxed work areas, more on this in an upcoming newsletter.
